it makes the book more interesting instead of the types of books we have read in the past in this class.
i especially liked the book requiem for a dream and that had sort of the same style, with lots of grammer missing like commas and peroids
I really like the way O'Brien wrote this book. It takes you into Vietnam and you can almost feel the harsh conditions that the soldiers had to go through. It makes me want to keep reading on and know the conditions these soldiers had to go through. It's a different type of writing, and thats why i like it!
I really like O'brien's style. It keeps the reader on their toes and its out of the ordinary. I think its great that it isn't chronological but more like how memories work within the brain. It steps outside the boundaries of writing and that intrigues me. It makes me feel closer to the writer with more informal writing. I love this book.
OB's way or writing isnt similar to other, becuase he uses alot of repetition, and there are so many stories at once that it's easy to follow b/c it doesn't make people really think. There isn't only ONE main theme, there's many, and i think when more themes are in a story, it makes it more interesting

I like that O'Brien writes the book and you don't know what exactly is the truth. I like that he makes you think, did this really happen? I think it gives you a perception of how the conditions of the Vietnam War were, but it also leaves you thinking and knowing that the book was fictional. I really like that he gives us "his" perception as an adult so that you sort of know what it is like for veterans
I like the way that O'Brien writes because he doesn't bother with the symbolism and meaning behind the words and phrases. Instead, his voice is one of a soldier who is confused and obviously dramatically effected from the war. He writes in fragments of stories, and it is interesting to put everything together after reading multiple chapters.

So far, I have enjoyed Obrien's book. Though there is some speculation on whether or not this book is fiction. I believe that the truth lies somewhere in between. He(Obrien), gives information that most likely occured at one time or another. He may not have experienced every event in the book directly, but his stories are not about heroes or villains, but rather the lives of American soldiers in Vietnam. I believe this piece of literature is a prime example of highly realistic fiction.
I feel that O'Breins type of writing is much different from other books I have read in the past. His style is a more "real" type of writing, like he is writing from memory. It seems more interesting and makes me want to read more, because his writing makes the story seem more real.
