Initial thoughts

On May 17, we will be attending the presentation of Mr. Enright and his Vietnam war experiences. What are some things you anticipate he may discuss? What do you want to know about his time serving in Vietnam?

The vitnam war was a horrific war to be in because you didn't know who was friend from foe. You could die at any moment.

I think he will talk about how bad the was and the American people didn't want to be over there fighting.

I think that he will talk about his experience in the war, and how he dealt with it when he returned. My dad is a Vietnam veteran, and he said it was horrible how soldiers were treated when they returned

I think that he will talk about his overall experience in the war.
What it was like and what he was going through at the time.

Mr. Enright seems like a real man and very full of courage. He is very lucky to be a part of Vietnam war. We would surely like to know his personal experience during the war. Also have you ever killed a man or saw an enemy die in front of you? If you did, how did it feel like for the person who got killed? Were you ever in life threatening situation? hope you discuss this very interesting life experience with us. Thanks

I think he will talk about the Vietnam war in general to give us background of the war. But he will also speak about his personal experience to let us know what it was really like there.

I think he will talk about his horrific experiences in the war. Maybe talk about if he still has flashbacks or any sort of post dramatic syndrom.

I look forward to hearing a Vietnam War vet's experiences in a horrible war. The things he had to go through I could not even begin to think about. I am interested in hearing about a war from the perspective of someone who has experienced things most people could never dream about. Hopefully, the speech will be as good as people think.

I think he will talk about the troubles he faced in Vietnam and some of the fears (if he had any) and how he over came those fears.
Also, Did you ever regret killing some one? and Do you get nightmares of war sometimes?

I think the Vietnam War was a horrile point in time for the United States. I think it is so special that one of our own teachers can sit here and share his war stories with everyone. I would like to hear the memories Mr. Enright has about the war and how the conditions were in Vietname. I would also like to know about the treatment of the soldiers and how living in Vietnam was.

What is Mr. Enright opinion of Iraq in resemblnce with Vietnam?

I think Mr. Enright will be talking about his experences along with the friends he made that might have died in front of him. War is a terrible place. So many things can happen that can ruin your life and I wonder what happened to him.

With how horrible the Vietnam War was, it's great to see Mr. Enright, himself having been a troop in Vietnam, making a speech about all of his experiences. It will be a great way to show how truly awful the situation in Vietnam was.

Mr Enringht did you ever hesitate in killing some one or do you regret killing someone?

I think that Mr. Enright will explain what it was like to come back home after fighing and tell us about how it was to deal with the things that he saw and went through. I also think that he'll talk to us about his desicion on going to war and if he was drafted or if he signed up to go.

I think that Mr. Enright will discuss what physically happened with him during the Vietnam War, coupled with the emotions and trauma he went through during and after the war. I'm interested to know if he killed anyone and whether it still haunts him, and if he has symptoms of PTS (like if he has nightmares, hurts people, etc.).

I think that Mr. Enright is going to talk to us about his experience in the war injuries, conditions, friends, and much more. I am very intrested to learn about how he got hurt and how he dealt with the war emotionally after he arrived home

We don't know what the "vitnam war" was, but we do know that the Vietnam War was long and horrific. It drained Nixon, Kennedy, and Johnson. Hmph, let's see, Ho Chi Minh versus US and Ngo Diem. We shouldn't have gotten involved (like Iraq). OK SAPPHIRE?

I have heard Mr. Enright speak before but now that I have more knowledge on the Vietnam War, I look look at it from a different perspective. I am excited to hear his stories about friends, injuries and how his life was when he came back home.

I think he will talk about certain memories he has from the war that are more significant to him. i would like to know stories from the war that i probably wouldn't be able to believe. In addition i would like to know if he ever killed a man and how it made him feel. Also, i would like to know how the war has impacted him as a person both physically and mentally. i think that its great that he is able to share something so personal with us and teach us about his experiences during this time in his life.

I anticipate that he will discuss mostly about the hardships of vietnam. I bet he will also tlak about how he can still remember everything like it was yesterday. I hope he talks about what it was actually like to kill a man and how it affected him. I also hope he talks about how he viewed the war.

I think that Mr. E will talk about his experiences in the war and how he go through the war. He might also talk about how it felt to lose the men around you and how he coped with it. He might end off with the effects of coming home from the war and having memories spur through his head around the war.
PS Wes that was a scholarly comment

I think that Mr. Enright will talk about his experience and how things were at war first hand and even though we can read about it in books like The Things They Carried, I think it will be very different to actually hear about his personal experiences that maybe hard to talk about. Also I think he will be discussing the difference from when he was at war vs. when he returned. I don't know much about him serving so I will wait and find out!

I anticipate Mr. Enright talking about the war with first hand experiences. It will be interesting to hear about what the war was like from someone who was actually there.

I'm sure that Enright has a basic idea of what he will talk about. Probably including his personal experiences with combat and the injuries he sustained. However, I'm sure that he will tell stories that people want to hear. If someone asks a questio, he'll probably talk about a topic for a while.

I believe that he will talk about the two injuries that he obtained during his time in Vietnam. I hope he will discuss the men in his platoon and the things they experienced during there time in Vietnam

i heard that he talked about his experiences in the war it amazes me how he could talk about what happened. the war must have caused a lot of emotional baggage. i really didn't hear to much about what he talked about but sitting there listening i ;learned a lot. it must have been really hard.

My initial thoughts on the presentation were somewhat accurate. I knew Mr. Enright would talk about his experiences in vietnam. However, nothing prepared me for the story of the young Vietnamese soldier who had a picture of his family in his helemet. This alerted me that vietnamese soldiers were not all "evil vietcong." They were teenagers just like the American troops they were fighting against.
When I walked into the presentation, I was expecting more of a history lecture.

i think he will talk about the war and what he thought of it. Maybe he will compare The Things They Carried to the actual war and tell us some similarities and some differences.
